Terms and Conditions

Healthy dog running with ball in mouth

LAST UPDATED: 5th May 2023

When you book and undertake any session or service with us you agree to these terms of service.

• We have taken all safety precautions where possible, however our facilities are used at your own risk. Clients must wear suitable nonslip footwear due to trip/slip hazards and inform Beacroft Referrals of any disability or medical condition that limits their ability to participate or puts them at greater risk of injury. If non appropriate foot wear is worn (Heels, Flip flops, Crocs) You are asked to kindly remain seated and avoid wet areas.

• Clients are responsible for their children's safety and behaviour and must supervise them closely in all areas of the centre.

• Clients must ensure that their dog has a collar and/or harness on and must keep their dog on a lead until a member of staff tells them that it is safe to release their dog/s. Clients who ignore staff instructions regarding collars and leads on dogs will not be allowed to continue using our facilities.

• Clients must exercise utmost care and caution when visiting the location. The use of the staircase is purely at the users own risk. You should not use the stairs if you have any mobility or health issues that could result in a fall. When using the staircase, you must always use the hand rail. Do not attempt to use the stairs whilst holding your dog, our therapist will guide your dog up and down the stairs. Only one person may attend with the patient when using the first floor. When using the stairs, only treaded flat footwear is permitted to be worn. For health and safety reasons, children are not allowed to use the stairs or access the first floor.

• Clients must inform Beacroft Referrals of any changes to medication, surgical procedures, or changes in veterinary advice affecting their dog, and if their dog is receiving treatment elsewhere or contracts any infections or contagious disease (e.g., kennel cough).

• Physical exercise together with the pressure of the water on the chest and abdomen can put more stress on a dog's cardiorespiratory functions. If there is an undiagnosed cardiac or respiratory condition, the dog could be at risk. If a dog has a diagnosed or undiagnosed spinal condition, there is a possibility that their condition could be worsened by hydrotherapy.

HEALTH & SAFETY:

• Clients must arrive five minutes prior to their appointment time and pay for individual sessions in full on the day of the treatment. Please wait for the previous client to leave the premises prior to entering the building.

• Dogs with infectious or contagious conditions will not be treated.

• Bitches in season will not be able to attend until after their season has finished.

• The length of the swim initially will vary from only a few minutes to 30 minutes depending on the dog's condition.

• All dogs will be provided with a buoyancy aid and swimming collar to ensure their safety during the session.

• A five-minute swim is believed to be equivalent to a five-mile walk, so please do not exercise your dog after a session. Keep your dog warm and comfortable to ensure they recover fully from the session.

• If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so with at least 48 hours’ working days notice. This will help us to manage our schedules and ensure that other clients can be accommodated.

• We reserve the right to cancel any sessions, such as maintenance or illness of staff. We will try to give you as much notice as possible and reschedule your appointment if necessary.

• We reserve the right to refuse the right to swim any dog as we see fit. This is to ensure the safety of both the dog and the therapist.

• It is important that you do not feed your dog for at least 2 hours prior to their hydrotherapy session and up to 1 hour after their session. This is to prevent any potential health risks and to ensure the comfort of the dog during the session.

• There is an air-dryer on site, although some nervous dogs prefer towels. Please bring your own towels to ensure your dog is dried thoroughly after the session, especially in colder weather.

• Clients must clean up and dispose of their dog's mess if it defecates. A surcharge of £350.00 will be charged to any client whose dog defecates in the pool.

• Whilst every care is taken of the dog’s treatment, all dogs receiving hydrotherapy treatment do so at their owner’s risk. It is important that you are aware of the potential risks and that you take responsibility for your dog's health and safety during the session.

• We cannot be held liable for any damage or loss to vehicles or personal property while on company premises. Please ensure that you take the necessary precautions to protect your property.

PARKING:

The car park is operated by a number plate recognition camera and is restricted to only 60 minutes of free parking. All visitors attending an assessment must scan our unique QR code and follow the instructions to activate free parking. Visitors are responsible for activating free parking. Please ask a member of staff if you have any questions.
